Gerald Hausman tells stories to children of all ages. He visits schools of all kinds and does programs that cover a variety of topics from animal lore to Indian lore, and from ghosts to Great Danes. He has done presentations to babies and to pre-schoolers and from all levels of grade school through graduate school. The size of the audience is not important to him - he speaks from the heart to two people or two hundred. He has done numerous talks on radio and television, and is very comfortable around the campfire. If you are interested in having Gerald visit your school, write to him by email and he will write back to you. "Mr. Hausman may be the most popular visiting speaker we have had come to our school. He is a veteran teacher, a seasoned performer, and has a wealth of varied material from which to work. We would have him back in a heartbeat"- Fred Maas, Math Department Head Santa Fe Preparatory School - Santa Fe, New Mexico "Gerald Hausman fills his stories with the sounds of life. He gives our children a chance to listen, really listen to the world around them. I am reminded of the old-time radio theater when I hear Gerald tell a story. Some of our children may not be proficient at the English language, yet they understand the animal sounds that Gerald uses to enliven the stories he tells." - Becky Meeks, Media Specialist Redondo Elementary School - Homestead, Florida "Unique, fun, fascinating and sincere would best describe the Hausman author visit. From pre-school through 8th grade, Gerry and Lorry had no problem whatsoever entertaining all of our students! Their casual, heartfelt presentations were delightful for both our students and our staff offering a relaxed yet informative atmosphere for everyone to enjoy...we were all a bit sad when the visit ended." - Rubye Eberson, Chairperson Author Outreach Committee Ventnor Educational Community Complex - Ventnor, New Jersey

"Gerald Hausman performed at Desert Academy in Santa Fe, New Mexico for the first of our now annual
poetry nights. He is a poet/performer/entertainer. His delivery this October night with a live jazz band was
stupendous. The parents and students ate it up. The mix of fantasy, Native American, Caribbean and unique life
experiences provided a wide palette for all. He is coming back for an encore in 2005!" -Dr. Ray Griffin, Headmaster Desert Academy - Santa Fe, New Mexico "Mr. Hausman was both entertaining and inspiring to our students. His unique stories and even more unique sound effects caught our students' attention, and never let go. They left that day more excited about reading and actually writing themselves than I have ever seen them. They are still buzzing about those stories and their own futures in writing weeks after Mr. Hausman's visit." -Jeremy Cadell, second grade teacher McAuliffe Elementary School - Palm Bay, Florida "It was a pleasure having you as a featured author and performer at the Broward County Library's 17th Annual Conference on Children's Literature and Children's Reading Festival on April 15th and 16th, 2005. Your performance was enjoyed by all, children and adults. You are a multi-talented storyteller and author. We thank you for contributing to the success of this year's event." -Lucia M.
